Bug Description

When starting ubuntu, sound comes out of one speaker (the right one), while the other gives a high pitched hiss. If I try to change the volume or touch the mixer at all, the sound disappears - the only way to restore it is to reset the computer. I have a Toshiba Satellite L40-139.

Best Regards,
M.
