Bug Description

I hadn't noticed before but the F7 key on the macbook does not seem to do anything. I'm not even entirely sure what it is *supposed* to do, but I get no response from it. My guess would be that it has something to do with the displays / external monitors.

Is there anything I can run to help troubleshoot what this is supposed to do and get it to function as expected?

Here is a bit of additional information:

Apple Inc. - system-manufacturer
MacBook2,1 - system-product-name
1.0 - system-version

showkey -u output:
kb mode was UNICODE

press any key (program terminates after 10s of last keypress)...
0x9c
0x41
0xc1

Currently I have this machine connected to an external monitor using extended display via xrandr. Pressing this key turns the external black for a moment and then refreshes.

Did you find out already what that key is supposed to do?
