xfce4-statusnotifier-plugin is a Xfce panel plugin to display status notifiers, including application indicators, in the Xfce4 panel as described in freedesktop.org StatusNotifierItem specification. Status notifiers are a modern alternative to the system tray.
This plugin has been packaged and is available from https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/extras. It has been tested by members of the Xubuntu team.
The packaging has been uploaded to pkg-xfce but has yet to be uploaded to the Debian repositories.
