This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window:

apport-collect 1727290

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

Is this only happening on the linux-azure kernel, or also with the generic kernel?

Also, do you know if this issue is a regression? If it is, we can bisect down the commit that introduced the bug.

It might be worth seeing if this is already fixed in mainline as well:

Hey Joe,

It's only spotted on the linux-azure kernel.

As we haven't test this all the way from 4.11.0-1006.6 to this cycle, I think maybe it's better to not call it a regression for this kernel.

I will test the mainline kernel once I got access to it.
Thanks

This issue can be reproduced on 4.11.0-1014.13 azure kernel.

Verified with 4.14-rc6 (4.14.0-041400rc6-generic), this issue does not exist.

Verified with the oldest version in the archive: 4.11.0-1009-azure
This issue still exist.

I think we only test those kernels older than 4.11.0-1009-azure in proposed pocket.

Hi Sam,

I believe this test is passing on our supported bare metal kernels as well as their linux-azure counterparts now.

These are the kernels whose results I looked at on the Jenkins server:

* 5.3.0-21.22
* 5.0.0-34.36
* 4.15.0-68.77
* 4.4.0-167.196
* 5.3.0-1006.6 (azure)
* 5.0.0-1024.25 (azure)
* 5.0.0-1024.25~18.04.1 (azure)
* 4.15.0-1062.67 (azure)

All of these kernels are in -proposed, but I think these tests have been passing on previous kernels as well.

marking fix released On 8/21/2019, the git repo was updated for this test. It properly uses the upstream version now. Since then this test has been passing on Azure.
