CD almost freezes

Bug Description

During boot session, CD almost freezes during disk checking and when getting on
the system. The problem fixes when booting in expert mode, because hdparm
parameters indeed work (say '-c1 -d1 -X mdma2').

Similar problem I had with installation CD.

System: Hetis 865GV barebone with LG combo (CD-RW/DVD-RW).

Boot seems to freeze, but really it works. The problem is that if goes slowly
(afer 1 hour, the system still has not booted). Apprently, 'dma' '32bit' and
other improvements do not automatically engage.
