Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. I have classified this bug as a bug in xorg.

Uh, sound problems are not related to Xorg.

Oh, sorry, please ignore my last comment. This isn't a bug in xorg package.
Please open a terminal and paste this command uname -a > uname-a.log and sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log then attach the log file to this report.

I'm sorry again.

Hi kunlqt,

Just a few things you might want to try:

1) The following wiki might help: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems .
2) You might also want to try installing 'linux-backports-modules' as it has an updated version of ALSA.
3) Another thing that would be helpful to us is if you can verify if this bug still exists in the Hardy Heron Alpha releases. The Hardy Heron Alpha series was recently released. Alpha2 and subsequent releases contain an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/ . You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. Note you will only be able to test Suspend from the LiveCD, not Hibernate. If you can, please verify if this bug still exists or not and report back your results. General information regarding the release can also be found here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks!
