Bug Description
Resuming from suspend fails on my Dell x300 laptop. I decompiled and attempted to recompile the ACPI DSDT code and received two warnings.
dsdt.dsl 3610: Field (ECR, DWordAcc, Lock, Preserve)
Error 4074 - ^ Host Operation Region requires ByteAcc access
dsdt.dsl 4463: CreateByteField (BUF0, \_SB.PCI0.
Error 4007 - Field offset is in bits, but a byte offset is required ^
ASL Input: dsdt.dsl - 6210 lines, 232044 bytes, 2597 keywords
Compilation complete. 2 Errors, 0 Warnings, 0 Remarks, 702 Optimizations
The first error was easy to fix. I am hung up on the second.
Even if you all were to know how to fix this, what would you do about it? Does the kernel have the ability to recognize a specific busted dsdt table and replace it with a known good table?
Hi Jerome,
Just curious if there is an updated DSDT that you could use instead that might resolve this? You could try to put quirks into the kernel to try to work around a broken DSDT but it's unlikely that this will happen at this point in time since we are almost at a kernel freeze for Hardy. Have you looked at the following site by chance? http:// acpi.sourceforg e.net/dsdt/ view.php Let us know if it helps. Thanks.
