Bug Description

Licence : LGPL
Adress : http://python-ogre.org/

Python Ogre is the new Python's binding of the Ogre3D graphics library (the old one was pyOgre). It's include also sevral interesting pluggin such as TerrainEditing, Large LandScape possibility, Physic (just Bullet is under GPL), sound via OpenAL.

There is a build method for Ubuntu (http://wiki.python-ogre.org/index.php/LinuxBuildV2) but it's a bit complicated and need to compile and download some libs that are already in repo (such as CEGUI, libogre, freeimage etc.), so it would be very helpfull if there will be a package for python ogre.

It's really a great API, very powerfull and easy to learn. It could help a lot of people to create awesone free 3D games ;).

And it's compatible with pyGame!!! :D

There is a repository which you can vieuw here: http://wiki.python-ogre.org/index.php/LinuxBuildV2 . But I don't think they are made for Hardy or Intrepid.

There is no intrepid version of that repository yet. The hardy version wont install because it needs "libopenal0a", and in intrepid there is "libopen0a". So it has an unmet dependency.

I would like to see this package as well. I want to create some 3d environments, but I am not ready to learn C++ just yet
and this is the only free 3d graphics engine that has a python wrapper.

I can confirm the problem with the hardy package, it indeed doesn't install because of the problem mentioned by the poster above me. So please, make a package! ;)

Euh, do you know CrystalSpace (http://www.crystalspace3d.org/main/Main_Page) and the CEL Engine (http://www.crystalspace3d.org/main/CELstart) which use Python and which have .deb package?

Greetings,
Andréas
