Bug Description
Ubuntu Release:
Description: Ubuntu hardy (development branch)
Release: 8.04
Ubuntu 2.6.22-
After updating from 7.10 to 8.04 with all the newest updates i installed the proprietary hardware drivers which Ubuntu suggested to install. But whenever i reboot my system, Ubuntu will tell me it have to run in low graphics mode. And i cant get my resolution to 1280 by 1024.
The only way i can make my monitor to work under the right resolution is to reboot in recovery mode, and restore X server. Then i'll resume booting, but this way i cant get a second monitor to run or anything.
The weirdest thing is that i haven't had any problems in 7.10 with the resolutions or anything. It took some time to get there but eventually i got there, even the second monitor. But i tried everything in 8.04 but with no avail.
My video graphics card is a: Sparkle Nvidia GeForce 6600GT
And i have 2 * 19" LCD Monitors of the brand Acer AL1922
I hope i gave enough information here, if anyone need anything more, please ask. And sorry if my English is a bit poor :D

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/ xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/ Xorg.0. log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt.
Thanks in advance.
