Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you?
Can you try with latest Ubuntu release?
Can you describe your hardware, please? What is the cpu (32-bit or 64-bit); how much memory do you have?
Thanks in advance.

I am on the latest Hardy 8.04 release
cpu is intel 6400 core duo//// 32 bit with 1g of memory

I have occasional hang ups when opening folders on both Thunar and Nautilus.
i have to X out (forse quit). It will repeat on the same folder untill I reboot some of the time.
I am not sure this is the same problem as above

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!

dancer58, could you see if Bug 231923 is the issue with copy and paste, and add to it if it is the problem you are having? Thanks again!

It seems to be the same problem. When I wrote the above (2008-07-19), I was not copying from Nautilus to Thunar. I have had it happen on Nautilus by itself several times.

Should be fixed in natty. If you can still reproduce this crash on natty and Xfce 4.8, please file a new bug with apport. Thanks.

Same problem here, trusty 64bit xubuntu. There are some things which I believe can be responsible for this, but not reliably reproducible:

- changing files of the displayed folder, for example deleting/creating/renaming files very frequently (>20/s) using a script
- displaying a folder where files (mpeg or tar) are growing (because of recording or download)
- i also recognized that when displaying a folder and use sorting and some files are selected, and then changes on the file system result in a different sorting, the selection changes to different files. maybe the cause of our creash is somewhere in this area
