Laptop display backlit

Bug Description

When working on a dimed display, let's say 50% - when being inactive, the display reduces to let's say 30% , as soon I start any activity, it returns to 80% - (instead of 50%)

happens on both power & battery.

Could you please attach the resulting log file of: gnome-power-bugreport.sh &> gpm.log to the report? You might also want to take a look to the Debugging instructions located at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingGNOMEPowerManager for submit any other logs related to your problem.

Furthermore, it seems that you were using a Beta version of Hardy. Is this still an issue with Hardy Final ?

Since it's been a very long time since any additional info was added to this bug, I'm just checking to see if this is still an issue, and find out what additional work should be done on this bug.

this one remains, but behaves differently, more like bug 222526.
