Bug Description
Binary package hint: debian-installer
(This may be a qemu problem, for all I know.)
I have just attempted three installs of the Intrepid Alpha 1 amd64 alternate ISO image, under qemu. They all failed. The latter two failures failed at the partitioning stage in identical ways: after partitions have been created and filesystems have been created, the installer attempts to mount the root filesystem and fails. The relevant section from syslog:
Jun 27 09:56:07 kernel: [ 374.543015] Adding 361420k swap on /dev/sda5. Priority:-1 extents:1 across:361420k
Jun 27 09:56:08 partman: mke2fs 1.40.8 (13-Mar-2008)
Jun 27 09:56:46 kernel: [ 412.799348] EXT3-fs error (device sda1): ext3_check_
Jun 27 09:56:46 kernel: [ 412.799593] Remounting filesystem read-only
Jun 27 09:56:46 kernel: [ 412.804844] EXT3-fs: group descriptors corrupted!
The host system is an amd64 system running hardy + hardy-updates + hardy-proposed. The guest system is qemu-system-x86_64. The disk image file is of RAW format.
Could you try intrepid beta and see if this still happens?
