Bug Description

I'm running 2.6.24-18-xen and dmesg shows this error message

BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 00100100

as soon some load or I/O is generated.

Even a simple kernel-upgrade (to version 2.6.24-19-xen) locks up the dom0. Currently running domU are not affected, but most of the time a login to the dom0 via ssh is no longer possible.

I've attached the full dmesg output and lspci information.

I found a few other similar kernel bugs with a notice to try kernel 2.6.27 of intrepid, but I couldn't find a xen-version of that (only linux-image-2.6.27-2-generic / -server / -virtual).

Hi Mario,

It's my understanding that Xen DomU is build into the current Intrepid kernel. However, I don't think there are any plans to incporate a dom0 kernel for Intrepid. Knowing this, it sounds like 2.6.27 won't help the situation you are seeing here.

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.
