Bug Description

# Overview Description:
Using the New Login feature and trying to login back to existing session
doesn't work.

# Steps to Reproduce:
 1) Login.
 2) Applications -> System Tools -> New Login.
 3) Enter the same user and pass as in 1).
 4) Dialog pops up: "New login" or "Return to previous login/session" or "Abort
login"?
 5) Choose "Return to previous login/session".

# Actual Results:
 1a) In Themed Greeter:
  - Console mode login flashes and then a new graphical login screen appears.
 1b) In GTK Greeter:
  - Goes to Console mode login.
  - Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F7 shows a new graphical login screen.

 2) 2nd try to login works, but doesn't inform anything about the previous
session. Apparently does a new login.

# Expected Results:
It should return to the previous session.

# Additional Information:
 Ubuntu Breezy.

Another related problem:

- 2 users are logged in on the same computer
- Applications -> System Tools -> New Login
- A window pops up which shows "user A has already a display open at display 0,
virtual terminal 7"
- I choose to open the existin displayg, but then the system goes to console mode

Okay, I did a fresh Breezy install and set the newest updates available. Still
after trying to login to an existing session it goes to CLI.

Hi, is this still an issue in Dapper or Edgy?

I'm finding the same issue (I think) in Edgy (6.10), on a basically brand new install (only added vmware and mythtv). with all updates applied.

The attempt to return to the in progress session produces a blank screen and jumping to another virtual tty and back produces a pulsating orange screen. Kind of a cool effect, but not what was expected.

Let me know if I can help with more info.

Thanks for the bug report. However since this bug was last reported in Edgy with no updates, I was wondering if this issue is still outstanding?

 Thanks,
