Bug Description

So after upgrading to 8.10, VLC doesn't work the way it did in the past.

Bugs:

- can't play online audio streams such as .pls files
- when playing videos it's unable to have the video in the same window as the player, instead it always externalizes it.

Results of terminal when playing video in VLC

please open seperate bugs for seperate issues. I've added a bugwatch in the vlc bugtracker for the pls issue.

btw, for vlc, you have better changes to find someone to fix the issue if you reported it directly upstream.

Bellow are the results of vlc -vvv. Please note I've decided to just use a different media player, this bug still exists but I'll probably just ignore it.
