Synaptic launcher is asking me for root password

Bug Description

Dapper Current

$ apt-cache policy synaptic
synaptic:
  Installed: 0.57.6ubuntu3
  Candidate: 0.57.6ubuntu3

The synaptic launcher System -> Administration -> Synaptic is promting me for root password.

The launcher file itself: /usr/share/applications/synaptic.desktop
is using 'gksu' instead of 'gksudo'

I'm having this problem with Gutsy.
Its asking me for the root password for anything that uses GKSU / GKSUDO instead of the user admin's pass.
