nm-applet takes over cd drive?

Bug Description

If nm-applet is running and I insert a CD, I can't remove it. lsof suggests that nm-applet is holding the cd device. Why would it want to do that?

Killing nm-applet is rather hard too -- it respawns itself very quickly. Other than shutting down the computer I couldn't find a way to take out the CD.

Have you started nm-applet from /media/cdrom perhaps? ;)

I experienced an oddity like this with 0.5.1. after loading the nm-applet _something_ would attempt to read /dev/hdc throwing a few errors in my dmesg output. Unfortunately it wouldn't tell me what PID was doing it and by the time I notice the errors it'd already be done.

It appears to not be doing it since I updated to 0.6.1

It's very strange, I know -- I'll know further if I go a day without hdc access/seek errors in my log. :)

I don't think the bug is there any more. I filed it over a month ago.
No, I wasn't running anything off the CD-ROM. It was a data CD with some files on it.

Thanks for report. If you can reproduce with 0.6.x, please reopen.
