Kopete displays the wrong name in conversation windows

Bug Description

If I'm logged into two protocols (in my case MSN and Yahoo!), kopete will show the account name from Yahoo! in all conversation windows regardless of which protocol is being utilized.

You should find this is a result of global identity.

To change your settings:
Go into the main kopete window
Settings, configure
Identity tab
Uncheck "enable global identity" - or otherwise change the options as you wish :)

That is not the case. I've confirmed that global identity is not enabled, I have had a friend reproduce this on his computer. With multiple accounts signed in. (even two on the same protocol), the name that is displayed on sent messages on my computer is the name of the account FIRST signed in. (e.g. Signed in a different MSN account, sent a message, but the name that shows up in my conversation window is the display name of the first account connected).

Upstream marks it as Resolved, "Worksforme" against KDE 4.1. Sounds like they aren't interested in fixing it for 3.5.4 (version bug was filed against).

"Working in KDE 4.1. If this continues to happen, please file bugs for each
protocol that it happens in, since the protocol plugins are the ones
responsible for providing the chat window with the information"

Ok, so this is apparently fixed in KDE 4.1's Kopete which ships with Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex. As the fix (major version upgrade) doesn't qualify for an SRU, Kopete 0.50.x will not be backported to Hardy.
