Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I like to save bookmarks to shortcut files on my desktop. Usually, I can drag the icon from the left of the address bar to my desktop, and it will create a link on the desktop that points to that URL. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn't.

When I drag these icons to the desktop, I get a pop-up box that says:
Error while copying.

HTTP Error: Message Corrupt
I have not determined a pattern to when it will work and when it will not.
Running on Ubuntu 8.10, gnome, no visual effects enabled, firefox 3.0.7.

The lifehacker.com-url works as expected, but I get "HTTP Error: Connection terminated unexpectedly" with the laptopmag.com-url.
So it is a little different from yours, but still quite similar. I have Intrepid and Firefox 3.0.7.
