Bug Description

When using a Dell Vostro 1710 and the open source video driver, the system can suspend, but never successfully wakes from suspend. You just get a black screen.

With the closed-source nvidia video driver this problem is not evident, but other problems are, for example the X server regularly but intermittently crashes as in bug 334626.

root@vostro:~# lspci | grep -i nvidia

root@vostro:~# lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 8.10
