[Acer Aspire 5520] hibernate/resume failure [non-free: nvidia], shut down error

Bug Description

The first problem:
Always I shut down my Acer I have to press the "Enter" button two times before my PC shuts down.

The second problem:
After reading beta notes I tried to went my Acer to suspend mode... after pressing some buttons it went. But on resume the screen holds on "Waiking up. Please wait..." I pressed "Enter" two or three times and get the black screen with error:

Annotation: This occured during a previous hibernate and prevented it from resuming properly.

The same here, on my acer 5520. And the same failure when I use the function suspend.

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest Karmic 9.10 release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If the issue remains, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) while running Karmic. It
will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report.

apport-collect -p linux 349885
