gschem doesn't work

Bug Description

I installed with aptitude geda and geda-utils. When I try to open gschem the next message appears:

gEDA/gschem version 20040111

Error : system-error [C:52 L:25] in /etc/gEDA/system-gschemrc

I CANNOT confirm.
It does show up without warnings in the console for me.

You could retry with the edgy (ubuntu-6.10 that should go out by october 26)?

Also, I was unable to place any components on the diagram.
But it could be just me not knowing how.

Yes, it works now. It was already fixed/working in Dapper actually ! I don't know why this old Breezy bug is still open, but surely it can be closed....

Its closed in Dapper Drake itself. Regarding the "Unable to place component" issue you could read this how-to link http://www.geda.seul.org/docs/current/tutorials/gsch2pcb/tutorial.html

If you are still unable to place a component still please open another bug. Also from the initial report it is clear that the Version was very old and its 20060906 currently. Thanks for the report.
