Bug Description

Binary package hint: liferea

Hi there,

i have a bug since few versions. im using the 1.5.15 from the ppa source. i have the problem that if a feed has more than 20 updates and google catches this updates, my liferea does only load down the 20 newest. the older one doesnt appear in my liferea. so i have a hole between the last synced news in the feed and the one i synced for example a day later.

in googlereader the missing one are there, but liferea doesnbt download

You should be reporting bugs upstream then, and not in Ubuntu :-)

Are you using the Google Reader source support in Liferea, or have you just
added the feed itself?

oh sorry, i have followed the link from your blog, which adress i had from the liferea-website ^^

ok i havbe a googleaccount and all my feeds are integrated there. i made all clean. i marked all in googlereader as read (because i read all). and then i cleaned my liferea-config-directory in my homefolder. so i got a clean start with 1.5.15.
then i made right-click, new, source, google and typed my login and pw. liferea synced all feeds and downloaded 20 new per feed, all as read, all correct.

so then one day later i started liferea again. and i have a few feeds in there that are updated ca. 30-40 times a day, but liferea only syncs the 20 newest, so the first one after the first day which come out werent downloaded.

so i think liferea only looks for the latest 20 news per feed.

there is also a message about all other feed that there are updated news, although there are no updates.

OK, looking at http://code.google.com/p/pyrfeed/wiki/GoogleReaderAPI, it says
Google Reader will only retrieve by default the last 20 items, although the
number can be changed, but we don't seem to change it in the google code. I'm
afraid this will have to stay as is for 1.6 (1.6rc1 is already out), but I'll
poke the Google Reader folk (Arnold) to see what we can do with this for 1.8.

Let's leave this bug opened since I'll upload 1.6 to Karmic RSN :-)

I guess you will have to add a maximum count to the query URI, but I'm not
familiar with the Google Reader API so can't tell for sure

im not using the google-reader-rss-url as one feed, i added google by making a "new source/google reader", so all the feeds inside my google account afaik google reader apears singular in my liferea.

Ugly patch to hardcode at 500 until this feature is examined, change as appropriate but beware large numbers will make Liferea thrash pretty hard... maybe if I have time sometime, I'll make this more sensible.

Google reader doesn't exist anymore, so invaliding the bug accordingly.
