this happens about once a day. it is reproducible for a few hours and then suddenly it works again...

Can you please give me steps to reproduce it?
Can you also please run sunbird from terminal make it crash and post the output here (a file would be better than pasting.

when launched from terminal no useful information is provided:

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I do not know how to reproduce. Sometimes it happens (but then for many times in a row), sometimes it does not. And it changes between this behaviors without a change to the configuration.

can this bug be marked as public (after removing confidential info) so that other people (from duplicates) can comment?

den Fehler kann man, leider nur manchmal, reproduzieren:
Man öffnet Sunbird, klickt auf einen Termin (dann stürzt er ab. Funktioniert aber eher so alle 2-3 Tage einmal)

doni please file your bug using apport. and plese file it using english. You bug is most likely not hte same but since i dont understand it i can not be certain.

Doni your bug is not the same as this bug, please file another bug report using apport. Please report the bug in English and with as much detail as you can on how to reproduce the crash and list all extensions you have installed
