Bug Description

When I turn off my computer (from menus or using poweroff command), the shut down sequence complete till the end, except the final step of actually powering off the laptop!

I would have said this is some acpi shit, but then again SuSE10 on the same laptop, powers off nicely.
Each time I shutdown my laptop ... it reminds (why am I not using suse :) Which is why I would like to get this bug fixed if possible
Thank you

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'kernel-image'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.

Hi Ahmed,
Has this problem been fixed by a subsequent update? Could you please try the Edgy beta live cd and see if that fixes the problem?
Thanks in advance.
