Bug Description

As on the Reply Tab, add a follow (+) icon under usernames that the user does not Follow on a user page (when clicking on a @username)

Futhermore, why not add more info like bio, website, location of the user shown ?

just the follow icon would be nice... I hate that I have to go to the twitter website to follow someone new.

Sorry, have other things I'm doing today to try to figure out how to make a patch, but here's an excerpt from the Twitter API:

It would be great if we could follow new @users through gwibber.

This bug addresses this:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gwibber/+bug/519262

(Though not necessarily with the same UI. Post your UI suggestions for following there.)

> why not add more info like bio, website, location

I recommend editing the title of this bug to focus on this aspect of the suggestion.

This is partially implemented now in Gwibber 3.1.4 when clicking in the menu on the right Twitter / Identica icon of each post "View user profile" even if it does not always automatically open the page but adds the name of user in the list in profile window (and I have to manually select it).

In this page, we can see if we are following the user (with an option to thick), his pseudo and name, his bio, number of followers / freinds / statuses, his web page address, and above his alst statuses.

The best would be also to be able to see his followers / friends lists, his favorites etc...

summary: - [wishlist] Follow twitter user + Display 'bio', website', ... on
- UserPage (when clicking on a @username)
+ Display User bio, followers, friends lists... on UserPage when clicking
+ on a "View user profile" & open it directly

Thanks for the input. As of 3.1.4.2 uploaded today it should switch to the user stream automatically, but there are still bugs. We have passed feature freeze now, so expect lots of bug fixes over the next few weeks. There will also be improvements to the way the data is displayed before 3.2.

I would love to see mockups of what people want for user streams and profiles for us to work off of in the 3.4 cycle.

Thanks!

Also clicking @user in any post opens a user stream too and now there is a search entry as well.

Thanks for the answer : for ideas I love what is done in Hotot, for example, where all informations are quickly visible (see picture joined).

It would be great also to have in the top bar an icon to access to our own profile, to see our tweets stream, favorites / likes on each account, our friends, followings, be able to manage (unfollow, block...) them directly in Gwibber interface.

And re-add the multi-column view (I opened another wishlist bug for that).

Main advantage of Gwibber is that it supports more services (not only Twitter & Identica, but Status.net, Facebook, Digg, Foursquare, Flickr, in the future Google+...) and allows to get all timeline in the same interface.

We can see Gwibber progress at each update in the ppa, thanks for the good work :)

Clicking on an user name in a dent or in the right icon menu "View user profile" adds a line in the last tab (Users), that's right, but it does not switch to user tab automatically.

But clicking on the author name of a post does nothing. And on its icon, it opens the post in Firefox on Identica / Twitter site (which is good).

In the user tab, also the stream is not displayed, we have to click on the line to view it.

Last, for users with their own statusnet instance, clicking on the line on User tab does not show anything (it works well with identica users).
