icons missing on desktop in live cd

Bug Description
booted up to today live cd 4/25/06 and the desktop icons that nomed said would be there... are missing...
looking under the Desktop directory displays that the directory is empty.

I think it's fixed in beta2. Can anyone confirm and close the bug?
