Same here... Not just in KDE, but Gnome as well. Also, using the Alacarte menu editor in Gnome it's not possible to hide just one of these entries, it's either both or none.

AFAIK the hidding issue from alacarte is the way it works.

The repeated icon should be fixed to show only in office with the rest of oo.o

the file /etc/xdg/menus/kde-applications.menu has been patched to hide this entry in kde.

Anthony, doesn't the problem actually lie elsewhere? At least the issue persists in Gnome. Should I file a new bug report against gnome?

Anthony, please have a look at the status; a status of "progress" usually means, that the bug is acknowledged and a fix is underway.

Hey,

This had been modified in the file /etc/xdg/menus/kde-applications.menu and
concerning kubuntu the problem is gone.
I assume that will not concern gnome, as it can be their decision to keep the
icon in both sections.
I don't know the way gnome builds it's menu, but the equivalent file in gnome
doesn't exist.
Best thing to do is pinging an ubuntu-developper that focusses on gnome to
check is that is something wanted or not

This bug's status has been "In Progress" for two weeks, but the problem still remains (at least in Gnome). Is there any chance of fixing this before Dapper gets released?

Openoffice Draw appears twice in the Gnome menu. When you enable icon in Office via Alacarte, the icon appears in 2 places. When you disable icon via Alacarte, it's disappears from to places.

I asked in #ubuntu-bugs, and it seems that Draw has been removed from the menus in both KDE and GNOME.
Therefore I am closing this bug. If it should still be open, please reopen it,
