Bug Description

From

  http://blog.flameeyes.eu/2009/10/02/quick-note-i-censored-hate-bzr

Looking a little closer shows that URL has a .bzr and a trunk/.bzr.

If there was no shared repo there's not a lot we could sensibly do.

As there is then we could try a little harder to be helpful. A message
that there may be paths below that given URL that they could branch
would be a clue.

Given that some git users may try and clone the shared repo as that is
what they are used to this would help the transition.

Thanks,

James

There is a proposal to fix this in <https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~slyguy/bzr/bug-440952-bzrdir/+merge/13431> but some more work is required, which Andrew has indicated he will do as patch pilot.
