If you saved the list of favorite web pages from the browser you used on Windows, you can now import them into the web browser available with Ubuntu. The following instructions are intended for users of the default <application>Firefox Web Browser</application> who are importing their favorites from <application>Microsoft Internet Explorer 6</application>. Please see <xref linkend="preparing-bookmarks"/> for more information.

What's up with IE 7 and 8? Does this apply for those too or has the process changed?

Ill look into it, I fairly sure that IE 7/8 is the same process.

Its a lot different, ill write up a patch with the steps to do it with IE7 and IE8.

Ok I wrote up a patch, it keeps the IE6 section and adds a new section for IE7/8. Its very similar though, its located in a different place and one button is renamed.

Shane, thanks for the patch. There are a couple of adjustments that needed to be made. First, you used the spelling "favourites", but we need to use American style English spelling, which would be "favorites". Also, there were two typos which said "will will" which I fixed. Fix committed to revision 376.

Ed why have you changed this to in progress? A patch was pushed to the lucid branch. I didnt make it in time for karmic but in lucid its fine.
