No way to exit F6 <extra options> without reboot

Bug Description

The Desktop CD boot loader gives the option to choose extra options which is selected by pressing <F6>.

Pressing <F6> brings up a text entry box. Leaving this blank and pressing enter results in a crash

  "Disk something AX=.. BX=.."

and the only way out is a hard power-off.

Rebooting and trying <F6> <Esc> results in no action. Once <F6> is pressed, there appears to be no way out.

Subscribing Simon Law as he confirmed this bug.

When I asked on IRC, he confirmed that he had had this problem himself and wasn't just triaging it.

No Ubuntu version specified. Is this still an issue in Hardy?

Yes, the issue is still present (tested on Intrepid). You cannot go back from the F6 extra options line.

This is still an issue.

There's no way in the latest installer to select none of the "Other options" once you hit F6. If you hit F4 or F5, the defaults are Normal and None. In case of F6, you end up selecting acpi=off by default, or some other option; you can't return to normal state.
