Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager

I'm using a Dell Mini 9. Ever since upgrading to Karmic after suspending and resuming the volume goes back to some default setting and not to what I had it at before. This is problematic, since I use my netbook to take notes in class and I would like to just leave the volume muted all the time to prevent random beeps and sounds that applications choose to emit from disrupting the class, but now unless I remember to mute it every time I resume bad things could happen.

I can confirm this bug on a Dell Latitude E6400. If I mute the speakers and go to standby, then the speakers will be unmuted on resume.
