Further info: After this message from update-manager, mythtv-common is left in the list of upgradeable packages. After installing this all is okay for myself

I fail to see how this is a duplicate of bug #498355. In that bug the user is trying to install mythtv-status. mythtv-status is a backend function and the problem I have had is on a frontend-only machine. Plus this was an upgrade to existing packages, not attempting to install others. Please re-visit

Yeah i think that was just mismarking with a few bugs like this flying in. I've got a fix committed to bzr, should be in next -fixes build.
