Bug Description

I hit the upgrade button on Update Manager to upgrade from Breezy to Dapper.

The upgrade deleted xchat and I had to reinstall it.

The upgrade should not remove user installed applications.

the logs are attached. I couldn't figure out how to attach more than one file at a time in launchpad, so they are in a tar.gz.

This keeps happening to me when doing dist-upgrades in edgy. Update-manager likes to do some dist-upgrades sometimes and it always seems to remove xchat when it does. Logs attached.

Is this still happening in Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy Eft)?

Reconfirming bug.
In my opinion, not answering Duncan question does not make this bug not usefull to be look at by package maintainer (that have assign this bug to himself, that's a good reason for being careful not doing too much with this bug)
