I have only tried in a virtual machine (virtualbox), but in that environment is always reproducible.

Is this problem reproducible? The ISO build report showed zero uninstallable packages on this CD, and a test 'apt-get install xubuntu-desktop^' in a chroot works fine.

Also, one of the packages listed as uninstallable here is libreadline5, which is *very* unlikely to be caused by an archive problem.
