Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
I have a fully updated hardy AMD64 box. When trying to run the upgrader (via sudo update-manager -d), I received the following message:
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResol
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
If none of this applies, then please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/

After browsing through the log briefly, it appeared to me that usplash was the main cause of the breakage.
I manually removed usplash before starting the upgrade and it's now fetching packages and chugging along.
