Bug Description

The fglrx kernel module seems to be broken on systems running kernels 2.6.17 or higher, here's the dmesg output (partial) after loading the fglrx module:

[17180368.412000] agpgart: Found an AGP 3.5 compliant device at 0000:00:00.0.
[17180368.412000] agpgart: Putting AGP V3 device at 0000:00:00.0 into 4x mode
[17180368.412000] agpgart: Putting AGP V3 device at 0000:01:00.0 into 4x mode
[17180368.412000] [drm] Loading R300 Microcode
[17180431.636000] [fglrx] Maximum main memory to use for locked dma buffers: 432 MBytes.
[17180431.636000] [fglrx:firegl_init_module] *ERROR* firegl_stub_register failed

I can do more tests on my Gentoo installation to see if the problem was corrected with a patch (but it requires time because i'm too busy now).

Fixed, we need to unload ati (or radeon) module && the drm module
