Bug Description

Binary package hint: python-matplotlib

Ubuntu 6.06

Synaptic helpfully uninstalled python-matplotlib after upgrading python-matplotlib-data to version 0.82-5ubuntu2. Attempting to reinstall python2.4-matplotlib gives the following error:

python2.4-matplotlib:
  Depends: python-matplotlib-data (=0.82-5ubuntu1) but 0.82-5ubuntu2 is to be installed

So the problem appears to be that the dependancy was never adjusted in the python2.4-matplotlib 0.82-5ubuntu2 update. Amazing this made it through QA...

Bugger, I just noticed that this is in Universe, not main, so I am unclear about who to complain to :) If this is not the appropriate place to file this bug, kindly delete it, with my apologies.

I can confirm this. There is not way to update to python2.4-matplotlib 0.82 because of the wrong dependencies.

This is was just a problem with the dependencies on python-matplotlib-data. I'm attaching a debdiff.

Ok, here is a better debdiff that replaces the hard coded versioned dependence on python-matplotlib-data with ${Source-Version}
