Bug Description

Binary package hint: apport

I keep getting a notification about a crashed program. However, when I click the button to see more info, I get the message "You are not allowed to access this problem report". This seems wrong: why am I not allowed? And why am I getting notified about something I'm not allowed to see?

I'm having the same issue. I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 on my Acer Aspire 5100 and first thing out of the gate I get a crash notification that disappears when I click on it. I go to var/crash to view the report and am greeted with "Invalid Crash Report: You are not allowed to access this problem report". Nothing seems to be negatively affected but still disconcerting and annoying.

Got it with Natty, with a kernel error after coming back from suspend.

I began getting this error near the Natty beta release, usually during package upgrades. It wasn't happening on my Natty workstation in the early alphas.

This happened in Ubuntu 11.04 when performing the following after a LibreOffice crash at the Terminal:

cd /var/crash && apport-bug apport.0.crash

apport.0.crash was the only file in the /var/crash folder. What I did to work around it was type:

cd /var/crash && sudo apport-bug apport.0.crash

However, it prompted me to make a bug against the package apport regarding how it failed to install/upgrade, instead of how LibreOffice crashed.
