have you actually lost antialiased fonts...

or have your fonts been switched from deja vu sans (regular) to deja vu sans (light)?

I got the second change...

I've lost antialiasing. In my kcontrol fonts menu Verdana was choosen - and it looked awful. Anyway - i fix this issue - I turn off antialiasing, relogin, turn on, relogin and it works again. Anyway - this kde upgrade on my box was awful.

I just want to confirm the problem.
The workaround described by Rafal worked here, too.
The problem is that not all users will find the switch and many
will search elsewhere when they see the antialiasing box is
checked.

Stefan - 100% agree with you.

Idea of KDE is providing "human friendly" gfx workbench.

Weird switchs and hacks are very awful.

The solution is for edgy currently, we still need to decide what to do for dapper, since kde 3.5.4 isn't the official kde version for it.
