Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

The results window of the gnome-dictionary panel applet is very small. It should either be sized appropriately to bound the line breaks in the content, or the content's formatting (size, word wrap) should be altered appropriately.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Could you make a screenshot of the issue?

My pleasure. This is 6.06 "Dapper Drake". The screenshot is attached. The word search returned several definitions in the picture. I have to slowly scroll vertically to find the one I like, then I have to scroll back and forth horizontally to read it.

From the upstream bug;

"the 2.14 behaviour was fixed in 2.16; unfortunately, for size constraints, I
can't make the dialog grow past half the screen size (as you can see in the
first attached screenshot).

as such, I have to mark it as WONTFIX, but if someone comes up with a better
sizing algorithm taking care of the screen size constraints I'll gladly REOPEN
the bug."

Marking the distribution task fixed, the GNOME 2.14 behaviour has been fixed with GNOME 2.16 for edgy
