Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17
A few days ago I saw a process 'apport' running on my system, eating huge amounts of CPU and generally slowing down my system.
So I killed it.
But then I got this OOPS in ALL my open terminals (attaching)

It also happened on my amd64 today. I was trying to kill a crashed firefox/ objdump/ java-vm (together eating 2GB of non-shared memory). When that didn't work, I killed the apport process, and the kernel went mad.
