Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-app-install
Clicking on the popularity column once should sort by descending popularity, not ascending. If you want to sort by popularity, you are most likely to look for the most popular program, not the least popular.

This is a valid and good point. But this behavior is the default GTK one and I haven't found a way to change it. You can also find the same situation in evolution: If you sort by date, you will get the oldest message on top. Perhaps this is not always the desired behavior too.
Reverting ascending and descending in the sort function seems to be a bad workaround.
