I have the same problem:

- evolution: 2.8.0-0ubuntu2
- gnome-pilot: 2.0.14-0ubuntu1

The bug is described here (with the stack trace and output of gpilotd):

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356842

Basically gnome-pilot crashes when using the evolution eaddress, ecalendar, etodo conduits.

Yes, it takes a while until it's processed and built.

There is one bug that's been following me since Breezy (I'm not sure if you want me to open a new bug).
To actually syncronize, I need to open the gnome-pilot applet, try to syncronize (it never does the first time), kill "gnome-pilot" and "gpilotd", open the applet again, and only then it will sycronize.
This happens every single time.
