Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17

Hi,

I'm running a Shuttle SN25P, an amd64 box with a nforce4 chipset and SATA2 drives.

When booting the Kubuntu Knot3 LiveCD, I got the grub menu.
Then, I chose Start or Install Kubuntu
Then both casper and initrd get unpacked, and I got a blank screen right after and nothing happened.

In the first console, I realized the following message was displayed an infinite number of times:

EAX is 4F01
Leaving interrupt Call
Calling INT 0x0 (0000:0001)

Following some advice from #kubuntu-devel, I rebooted
and passed the acpi=off option to the kernel.
This time, I got the following message:

irq10: nobody cared (try botting with "irdpoll" option)
handlers:
[<ffffffff8807e1e0>] (nv_interrupt+0x0/0xb0 [sata_nv])
Diabling IRQ #10

Hi,

I got the same problem with Kubuntu 6.10 Beta so
the problem is yet to be fixed.

Thanks in advance.

PS: you can ask me whatever additional information
you'd like to get.

Hi,

Adding 'irqpoll' to kernel options did not change anything.
