Haven't tried with other apps. Getting this on every other link I click from within knode. Started after the last update or two to edgy:

What version of (k)ubuntu and KDE were you using? Are you still having this problem on Edgy final?

Edgy, as I said in the original report, running whatever was in the repositories at the date the report was filed. As you know, Edgy was released with 3.5.5, which is what I believe I was running at the time. But since then, kubuntu.org released an additional 3.5.5 (3.5.5a?) update which seems to have fixed the problem. However, I had to specifically add the kubuntu repositories to my sources.list. The fix does not seem to be present in the main k/ubuntu repositories.

Which repositories are you talking about? Kubuntu.org has 3.5.5 repositories for dapper, that I know of. 3.5.5 was included in edgy so there is no extra repository for it afaik.

Check http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-355/dists/edgy. Seems to be there. I know that after adding that, I got very close to an entire updated KDE.

When did you add the kubuntu.org repository? (Why do you think the fix isn't in the edgy repositories?)

The current edgy package versions are newer than those in the repo you linked to, so most likely you are running official edgy packages and this is fixed.

I'm not going to argue. I got the update after adding the kubuntu.org repositories, not before. I can't rule out the possibility that maybe, just maybe, I did an aptitude update and got nothing, added the kubuntu stuff, did another aptitude update and got a large update as a mere coincidence of timing, but I also can't completely rule out the possibility of the universe being an illusion created by the flying spaghetti monster. Or perhaps the kubuntu stuff got added into the main repositories as well. I don't know. And I haven't received any updates to the base KDE stuff since. So you do what you want. I don't seem to be able to reproduce the problem any longer, either way.
