Bug Description

Binary package hint: konqueror

Using KDE 3.5.4 with Kubuntu 6.06.

I have a collection of HTML files on a local hard drive which I use Konqueror to preview with. However, randomly, if I close the Konqueror tab or window that has an HTML file open or go back to the local directory and open the HTML file in a different application, Konqueror will crash. This seems to happen randomly; sometimes it'll happen, sometimes it won't.

Here is the gdb output produced from the crash:

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1".

Is it any specific HTML file that causes the crash?

No. This happens with any HTML file I have.

I am unable to reproduce this on edgy with kde 3.5.4. can you please attach a file it crashes on for you so we can test with a file that causes it for you.

I just recently upgraded to Edgy and the problem no longer pops up. It seems to be a Dapper-only problem...stll, should I send you a file anyway? Like I said, it's random and happens to any *.html file I opened in Kubuntu Dapper.

Tested here too, with a bunch of files, and I am not able to reproduce.
Can be your konqueror profile that is crappy.
Can you test with a new user and give feedback please ?
