Bug Description

Binary package hint: base-installer

hello,

sorry but i dont know if i had choose the correct package.
I have ubuntu edgy Knot3 that i booted from the cd. and simply klicked on the install icon on the desktop.

my partitions are as follow:
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 1945 15623181 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2 1946 4984 24410767+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda3 4985 7416 19535040 83 Linux
/dev/hda4 7417 9733 18611302+ 5 Extended
/dev/hda5 7417 8632 9767488+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda6 8633 9617 7911981 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda7 9618 9733 931738+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris

note: "hda5 was only flagged as PartID83 but new not formatted ( before it was an NTFS part.)

As the installer came to the part to select the partition it would like to ?resize hda5? and appears an error message.
So i checked the option that i want to handle myself. and now it hangs. i have tried it several times.
Only if i format /dev/hda5 (ext3) it never would to resize the part. and the installatin went through.

sorry for my poor english.
i hope this could help you

regards
L.
