Dell Precision M65 laptop fails to hibernate

Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpid

Intel 945pm chipset laptop (with NVidia Quadro FX 350M graphics) fails to hibernate in edgy. It has a Suspend-to-ram seems to work fine. I am using the nvidia-glx binary driver.
Dell specs:

Here is the sequence of events:

1. Hibernate called from GNOME
2. Screensaver activates; session locked
3. X server goes down; leaves some garbage; left at a blank VT with cursor
4. Hardware begins shutting off, i.e. Wifi
5. LCD backlight off
6. LCD panel off
(expected page-to-disk here)
(expected ACPI powerdown here)
7. Some disk activity; unsure what
8. LCD panel/backlight on
9. Restart X
10. Black screen
11. Session login prompt appears
12. Relogin; a notification balloon tells me that Hibernate failed

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
