Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

network manager worked flawlessly in dapper. Now in Edgy it is just bad. when I first boot up it works just fine, connects to the wired network and all is good (like now) but if I disconnect from the wired network by unplugging, connect to a wireless network, then try to connect to the wired network it will never connect (only one green dot) then if I try to connect to the wireless network it will never connect either. Only rebooting fixes it for me.
my /etc/network/interfaces only has
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

also, if I right click on the applet and disable networking and then re-enable networking it just says "no networking devices found"...

Can you give the result of "nm-tool", your syslog, and a rough description of your hardware?

It would still be nice to have your hardware information ("lshal" output), since the problem did once occur.

There have been no recent changes in NM to cause things to start working. That, of course, doesn't rule out things like kernel drivers or simply bad wireless conditions.

Thanks! I will close this now , but will be able to use the lshal data if it happens to someone else in the future.
